St Lucia’s CIP citizens have right to vote in general elections, provided they are registered in the voter list of the Electoral department. By voting you can choose someone to represent you in St. Lucia’s Parliament to the democratic process of government 

St. Lucia is divided into seventeen (17) electoral districts. One representative, or Member of Parliament (MP), is elected for each electoral district.

Who can Vote

A person shall be qualified to be registered as an elector in an Electoral District only if, on the qualifying date he or she- is a person who is a citizen of Saint Lucia; or Commonwealth citizen who has resided continuously in St. Lucia for not Less than seven years immediately preceding the qualifying date;

    A person has

    • attained the age of 18 years;
    • has resided continuously in that electoral district for a period of at least two months preceding the qualifying date.

    Registration Dates

    There are two qualifying dates in each calendar year:

    • 15th February in respect of the first half of the year and
    • 15th July in respect of the second half of the year.
