The Saint Lucia has made amendments to the Citizenship by Investment Act 2025 to reject applications under the following reasons..

Common Reasons for Rejection

The CIP Board shall deny an application for citizenship by investment where an applicant —

  • provides false information,
  • has been convicted of a criminal offence except where the offence is a minor traffic offence,
  • is the subject of a criminal investigation,
  • is considered to be a potential national security risk,
  • is involved in any activity likely to cause disrepute to Saint Lucia,
  • has been denied a visa to a country with which Saint Lucia has visa-free travel and has not subsequently obtained a visa to that country;
  • application for citizenship by investment where the application for citizenship by investment of an applicant is denied by an OECS Member State.”;

Eligibility

In addition the applicant must meet the eligibility criteria such as..

  • Not from a blacklisted country.
  • Must pay the financial investment in full.
  • Pass background checks.

Appeals

Appeals are permitted, your lawyer or authorized agent will help you file an appeal within 60 days to the Minister responsible for Citizenship.
